Breakaway is the only UK charity offering residential weekend activity breaks for young people aged 4-18 with bowel and/or bladder diversions/dysfunctions, and their families. Breakaway offers the opportunity to meet others in similar situations, to talk, share experiences and to take part in confidence building action and adventure activities.

IA was delighted to be invited to attend the second Breakaway weekend in 2008, and have been activley involved in supporting Breakaway ever since. We’ve been delighted to welcome Julie Bastin to IA National Council, where she’s made even the hardest of hearts weep with tales of how Breakaway has helped so many familes, and we’ve also had a number of articles from both parents and children in the IA Journal.
